It seems that every year there\'s another it-hotel that dominates Miami Beach in the lead-up to Art-Basel that kicks-off December 6th. This year it\'s The James that transforms the historic Royal Palm into the third outpost of the boutique James-brand owned by Denihan Hotels that\'s ideally located just south of Lincoln Road.
The four-structure resort contains over 300-guest rooms that mix a spare, modern design in pale greens and creamy whites with period deco details preserved during the hotel\'s $42-million restoration. Two eateries dot the marquee including Florida Cookery by Miami chef Kris Wesse and a Miami installment of Catch led by Top Chef winner Hung Huynh to debut before Art-Basel.
But the true coup d\'etat comes with the opening of SL Miami, launching in late-November, from NY scene mavens Eugene Remm and Mark Birnbaum that own perennial hotspots SL and Tenjune.
