Atop a Kreuzberg apartment building overlooking old Anhalter Bahnhof, Solar is accessed via a glass-enclosed elevator that carries a hip set of Berliners to this 17th floor supper club. Part restaurant and part late night dance lounge, Solar is surrounded in floor-to-ceiling panels of glass that frame the Berlin skyline. More than just another view restaurant, the main floor of Solar feels very much formal eatery with white clothed tables and vignette of vintage lighting fixtures that erupt from a concrete ceiling. After dinner, the formality is flung to the side as a staircase leads to an upstairs DJ lounge with separate bar and banquettes facing an even more panorama of the city.
Tips
Stylish supper club and DJ dance bar lures Kreuzberg trendsetters for weekend events and be-seen dinners.
