If it's your first time in Budapest you'll likely be determining most addresses in coordination to what bridge they're adjacent. Inevitably, you're best bet is to just take a cab to Buddha Beach and save yourself the 'getting lost' part. Located on a riverside splice of land on the edge of Buda, this lively disco-style nightclub features a glossy interior dance space with neon-lit lounge and loft-style dance floor with exposed ceiling often lost in midnight's artificial fog show. With a line-up of some of the town's hottest deejays and promotional nights, the crowd is a mix of college-age locals and 30-somethings showing-off their dance school moves. Summertime the party moves outside to an even better space with open-air dance floor, cabana-style bar and grassy lounge area for midnight romance.
Tips
Our first visit to Buddha Beach made us want to go home. It was boring and full of 17-year olds with pimply skin coddling their pint-size beers as slowly as possible. Saturdays tend to be better, chock-full of sexy locals. Mid-week can be painfully slow and probably best skipped in lieu of a downtown bar or lounge.
Last Word
Located on the Buda-side of the Danube along a riverside promenade perfect for summer’s midnight dance parties, Buddha Beach is a lively outdoor lounge and nightclub catering to a mixed crowd of 10 and 30-somethings looking to find affordable and fun nightlife.
