Along a romantic corridor near St. Mark's Square, a boisterous hotel lounge is looking to raise the roof on Venetian nightlife. It's a fickle city; Venice has with no true dance club and few stylish hangouts to spend the evening aside from a few hotel bars and restaurant lounges. A hybrid lounge and champagne bar sponsored by Krug, the hotel is located within a 15th Century palazzo offering a cozy restaurant, wine bar and cocktail lounge popular with the city's loftier social set and visitors. The space features a dark and masculine design space of black tufted-leather couches, stacked-stone walls and alcoves draped in black fabric. A glamorous alternative to the cheerful and painfully touristy drinking bars of the island, visitors arrive in the late evening and cuddle up in one of several seating areas or directly at a long mahogany wine bar with back wall stacked with Italian red wines. A separate Lounge Bar features Illuminated cocktail bar with weekend social scene that includes celebrities.
Dinner is best enjoyed elsewhere for better food, service and crowds. Afterwards, the bar heats up with a Venice social scene desperate to find something fun after dark. Larger parties can look the private salon for VIP cocktail service or special events.
