It wasn't long ago that the coolest thing about the Beverly Hills Hotel was the occasional Broadway song played on the piano in the lobby-side Polo Lounge. Perhaps envious of the ever-hip lounge party of the nearby Four Seasons, the owners of the BH Hotel poached its manager to launch an all-new lounge concept within the lobby. A year later and the result can be seen on any given weekend, as a stylish crowd of 30-something local singles line-up for clipboard check and VIP entrance to a super-private foyer with hostess. Most in LA don't even know about the bar, a well-kept secret of 90210ers that like to keep their little social club a secret. The newly constructed space looks as thought it's always been part of the hotel, with long elegant bar opposite cushy banquettes available for caviar snacks and bottle service. Drinks are served in heavy one-off crystal glasses as visitors mingle between the interior lounge and large outdoor terrace with views of the surrounding green beltway. The crowd ranges from cash-flashing sports stars in Gucci-logo jackets to local billionaires in head-to-toe Hermes looking to buy their way into 90210 's flashiest social circles.
Tips
Clipboard got you singing the blues? Ask the doorman for bottle service on the outside patio, which is almost always available from around $350.
