In Miami's own version of Soho circa 1960, Wynwood is the latest backdrop for the owners of the Townhouse Hotel and Sra. Martinez. Together they bring to 1am dance life inside one for the coolest performance-space-slash-DJ-bars that has ever been seen in the land of the pink flamingo. Inspired by the Cabaret bars of early 20th Century Berlin, albeit across the street from a very 21st Century strip mall of Foot Locker and Kinko's, this corner showroom space finds starry inspiration inside a step-down lounge space of red Venetian plaster walls adorned in gilded framed artwork and sofa banquettes that line the main room.
Named after the cinema icon, Bardot herself might have felt at home with the line-up of music, art, fashion, film, literature and the art performances that find their home in the late-night lounge with events ranging from DJ jam sessions to ever-naughty burlesque shows that aren't just limited to women. Some nights feature live piano showcases ala Lady Gaga best enjoyed atop the edge of the red leather sofa that's currently ground zero for Miami's fashion nightlife scene.
