Once a bohemian refuge for mouthy seamstresses and burgeoning fashion models, Marais has become the latest tourist stopping point in line with the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur. Not the prettiest corner of the Marais at rue de la Perle and Vieille-du-Temple, a sidewalk of bistro tables and leisurely waiter service sits under an entrance with scarlet-red awning. Inside, a playful café by days turns into a brasserie eatery and late-night drinking scene by night with neighborhood fixtures making a midweek showing along one of the cozy booths or two-tops facing the street. A long bar is strung with stainless-steel lanterns with sexy, slightly slow bartenders working the crowd of gay fashion types and their favorite girlfriends ordering heavy-handed goblets of Bordeaux.

By day a café scene prevails on the narrow sidewalk outside, by night a 11pm dinner contingent arrives and lasts till around 2am.
