Owned by one of the cool art collectors that inhabit ever-cool Sai Ying Pun, Ping Pong bills itself as the Spanish ‘gin and tonic’ experience. But inside, it feels otherworldly with its weathered concrete columns and factory windows of another time. The crowd includes media workers and local artists that sit atop Prouve-inspired chairs or mid-century sofas and sip endless Chinese beer and frilly cocktails until midnight closing. Along the walls, look for the owner’s collection of emerging artists (don’t mind the nudes) as well as periodic gallery shows.
