In one of the glitziest ski resorts in France, Le Milk is one of Courchevel's most popular apres-ski restaurants with a reputation for its sexy snow bunnies and ensuing Prada-clad ski instructors. It's location on the slopes of Les Trois Vallees is convenient enough to stop-off for a mid morning snack before returning to the lifts and runs for the afternoon. They come in search of a quirky ambiance that mixes the brash of St. Tropez with the charm of a Baja-style taco shack that just happens to be smack-dab in the middle of France.
The Food
By day Le Milk is a pub-style eatery offering traditional Mexican cuisine like tacos, enchiladas and a French interpretation of the Nacho Bell Grande. Visitors arrive from all directions including dressed-up shoppers, skiers still covered in snow and hotel workers indulging in a 30-minute liquid lunch. By night the scene awakens to more of a disco atmosphere with diners noshing on plates of queso and enchiladas to the backbeat of in-house DJs spinning French lounge and hip-hop anthems. The staff is on first-name basis with many of the guests, lingering in conversations that may have you waiting a bit longer for a drink. Try not to be hasty, the locals are not known for their service but make great mates should you give them a chance.
