nightlife

In the ever-evolving Bowery nightlife scene, this celebrity-favored bar is located in the former-Remote Lounge space where wifi-voyeurism proved a passing fad. Coined BE by regulars and local promoters, the bar is owned by East Village entrepreneurs Mike Stuto, Jesse Malin, and Johnny T.  The sterile facade of smoothed concrete, black paint and frosted door yields to an interior space of black paneling with antique lighting fixtures and glossy grunge vibe. Nightly entertainment include rotating deejays spinning eclectic Ramones, '60s rock and the occasional live band planned for the lower-level lounge with music stage. The bar is attended by a luscious selection of chatty bartenders serving-up evolved cocktails in stemmed glasses that prove the edgy days of the Bowery's past are surely coming to an end.

Tips

Skip the shower and wear your wildest McQueen, this haute grunge bar still likes to attract the Bowery’s glossy grunge set.

Last Word

Celebrities like Kirsten Dunst and offspring of the Ramones hit-up latest Bowery bar with eclectic DJS and occasional live music set.
