It's been a hip drinking bar for most of the decade, riding high on the promise of a hot new Berlin and then wading through the endless trend bars and nightclub that followed. But now this vibrant cafe-style lounge and bistro bar is riding high of a few celebrity appearances as well as recent neighborhood resurgence. Visitors arrive to the picture of '20s Berlin, through a vintage doorway that leads to a narrow drinking lounge lined in perfectly upholstered banquettes in red and gold colors. Walls are lined in wood paneling and checked wallpaper above wide-plank wood floors. In the middle of the room is a long galley bar, topped with smart lighting with lace red lampshade that give the gentlemanly bartender a rose hue as he pours one of the city's best martinis as well as numerous Bavarian beers on tap. Noshers find a decent bar menu of appetizer and nightly specials like a midweek roast beast and Sunday chicken. At the end of another small seating area poised with an oversize silhouette of a reclined Fraulein enjoying the fruits of a bar truly en Vogue.
